TABOR Tabled in Florida Senate

TABOR was tabled in the Senate again today.  It’s been on the Senate Governmental Oversight and Accountability Committee’s agenda 4 times since March 13th, and the bill has been temporarily postponed 4 times now.  That may not be such a bad thing for Florida.  Florida’s TABOR proposal would by constitutional amendment limit state and local government revenues and require voter approval of new taxes and fees.

As Jaxpolitics has posted before, Colorado is the only state to have passed TABOR legislation.  The unfortunate result for that state was that it took them much longer to come out of a recession than other states – and the blame has been laid at the feet of the TABOR legislation.

Let’s keep our fingers crossed that Florida’s TABOR legislation dies on the vine.
